Happy Thursday!  This is the final installment for this week of the Mikeblog Bible Reading Podcast, and this morning I’m going over Genesis 8 and 9.  In these chapters we read about the flood subsiding, Noah and his family coming out of the Ark, and some of the ways that the world was changing from the way it used to be into the way it is today.

So is there any physical evidence for the events described here in the Bible?  I believe there is!  I think the fossil record is one such piece of evidence, as the best explanation for it is that it is the remains of millions upon millions of creatures that were all wiped out in a catastrophic event that resulted in their burial under layers of sediment.  Such a catastrophic event would explain a lot of the landforms that we see today and a lot of the geological curiosities we see today, such as fossil graveyards and coal seams that go on for miles.  I’ve read a good bit on evidence for the flood, and while I’m by no means an expert, I can try to find some answers for you if you have questions about the flood.  Just leave your questions (trolls will be banished to live under bridges) in the comments for this post, and I’ll see if I can help out.
